No one cares how
hard it was to achieve,
or how it arrived
as it arrived.
No one cares how
many degrees you
have or how many
hours you've
spent drunk in your
basement. If you've
overcome abuse or
neglect, no one cares.
No one is impressed
that you did it by
yourself, with
your own initiative
and funding.
The indifference to
the details is noteworthy
mainly because
nobody is taking notes.
You're lucky if anyone
shows up, or if they
even notice you crossing
your legs. Your legs
are stupid too, just
like your pet turtle
and your yard rake.
