here, which was
so now I'm replacing it
What is horrible
is always really
What is now
is always now.
It was horrible now.
Now, it was horrible.
Now, how horrible.

The Candle Is in the Shape of a 1, Estella Jo
It's not so much that she's beautiful, people, but that she's beautiful also. I want to say a bunch of things but they're all ridiculous.

It Was True Then and Now
in the new Rain Taxi. Well, I'm thinking things. Sometimes
the terrific thing it that you don't know. I am waiting for a copy.
When things begin to break down, you look up, and there are buildings.

See You Soon!
Two poets from out of town are coming here. There is Kate Greenstreet and there is Janet Holmes. They will be reading at The MT Cup at 8 pm on Thursday, September 13. Are you in the vicinity of Muncie, Indiana? Are you the slightest bit interested in poetry? You should consider attending this reading, and bringing a date, or friend. You might consider buying Kate's book or Janet's book, or Kate's and Janet's books. These are all real possibilities. I know because I've checked it out. I've done the research. I am hoping you can dig it.

The New Season
have been around you for a long
time, on accident.
There are also accidents on the highway
and you hope to avoid those.
Sometimes, it's raining crazy
and you can hardly see when you're driving.
You even pass some cars that
have pulled over because it's too much.
But you keep driving.
You figure it's safer than parking
beside a highway.
Then there is the day when
you drive home. That's always something.
There's the chicken sandwiches.
There are also mosquito bites.
It is a kooky world.
Things happen in it, and yet you are
always the one who feels silly.
Nobody really talks about Proximity,
but it's a good TV show.

You think, Why?
It seems like a knuckle ball.
You wonder how it interacts with yourself.
Yourself is troubled by words and other stuff.
This is stupid and troubling, you think.
That's true, says the kid in your head.
Now's when you start to feel funny.
With the whole world rubbing across your eyes, you're sure
you see something like a faint bird. It is sailing
into the sky in your eyelids.
Well, sure, it's blue there, but also red clouds
are rising and then sighing.
Yeah, no one is sure about anything, but I feel
certain that the lifting curtain is really real.
